A big welcome to Kate Broadhurst, our new Project and Finance Administrator, who is looking after the team’s admin and finance needs and projects. In her introductory blog she talks about her love of nature and how she embraces her creativity alongside her financial and business skills.

I started my career working in digital marketing, first as an office administrator, then as a project manager and consultant. This involved tackling complex projects across a variety of sectors including charities, financial organisations and universities.

I enjoyed this work and it helped me grow a lot of skills in project/account management and operations. But I also have a big creative streak and wanted to eventually start my own business. I began working as a self employed artist and teaching art and wellbeing classes to inspire others. This is something I continue to work on alongside my role here at CTP and I know that all of the administrative and financial skills that come with running a business will be very useful here too.

I’ve always been someone who values wellbeing, cares about the society around me and hopes for a better, fairer future. I admire the work that CTP is doing to highlight what works in creating thriving communities, and felt that it reflected my own values.

I’m looking forward to learning more over time and contributing to an organisation doing meaningful work. I hope that both my organisational skills and creative side will help support the team here and I can’t wait to get properly stuck in.

My own hobbies and passions are almost a list of things that are good for thriving on their own. Alongside a love of learning, I am a huge nature lover and on weekends will often be found in a forest or up a mountain! This feeds into my creativity and I enjoy creating paintings that honour the natural world around us. I also enjoy martial arts – I’m a blackbelt in both Taekwondo and Kickboxing – and yoga and reading.
